PLACES TO VISIT
CUPAR
Traditional market town, just 4 miles away, with a mix of shops, cafe and bars. Farmers market once a month is worth a visit.
FALKLAND
One of our family's favourite places. The hunting estate grounds are fantastic for family walks and for tiring out Fido! Find Maspie Den waterfall on one of the estate walks. Enjoy amazing, organic veggie food at Pillars of Hercules log cabin cafe, tucked in the woods. Falkland Palace is an impressive Renaissance building set in the heart of Falkland, at the foot of the Lomond Hills. It was once a favoured place of retreat and leisure for the Stuart Kings and Queens of Scotland, including Mary Queen of Scots.
There are some amazing little gift shops, including The Fayre Earth gift shop, full of fairtrade, recycled gems - very unique.
ST ANDREWS
What can we say that's not already out there? We're only 15 miles away. History, cathedral, castle, beaches and of course, the Old Course! Try the wee East sands beach too if you don't fancy the long beach near the golf course. It's quieter and not far from the castle and cathedral.
