Redlands Country Lodge B&B Guest House - Places TO VISIT
One of our families favourite places. The hunting estate grounds are fantastic for family walks and for tiring out Fido! Find Maspie Den waterfall on one of the estate walks. Falkland Palace is an impressive Renaissance building set in the heart of Falkland, at the foot of the Lomond Hills. It was once a favoured place of retreat and leisure for the Stuart Kings and Queens of Scotland, including Mary Queen of Scots.
Falkland is also the setting for The Big Tent Festival each year.
ST ANDREWS
What can we say that's not already out there? History, cathedral, castle, beaches and of course, the Old Course! Try the wee East sands beach too if you don't fancy the long beach near the golf course. It's quieter and not far from the castle and cathedral.

Pop in, if only for a coffee, just to see what they've achieved at the Byre Theatre in St. Andrews with this mix of old and new architecture. There's a new kids play area for those rainy Scottish days!

The good places listed below get booked up quickly, especially at weekends. So, if it's a table for 4 at 7.30pm please make sure you book in advance!
THE VILLAGE INN, PITLESSIE
About 3/4 mile away. The Village Inn has good pub food and a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Big menu - we recommend the Chicken Rob Roy - Chicken stuffed with haggis and a Whisky sauce, och aye!
THE CROWN, KINGSKETTLE
About 3/4 mile the other way! The Crown has a Spanish chef owner, Fernando, who makes the most fantastic tapas. Mediterranean influenced menu. Halibut Thermidor is Kates fave.
TO KEEP THE KIDS BUSY

MUDDY BOOTS FARM AND PLAYBARN
Just down the road in Balmalcolm, family owned Muddy Boots is great for toddlers and primary kids. Grass sledging, go karts, lots of farm animals and one of the biggest outdoor bouncing pillows around!
Very funky interiors in the café and a central log burner for those chilly days.
THE SCOTTISH DEER CENTRE, CUPAR
The Scottish Deer Centre is home to an amazing variety of wild animals. Come and see up to nine different species of deer from around the world. Meet 'Stobo' their black Highland Cow, their rare breed Soay Sheep and come face to face with native Red Foxes. There are daily bird of prey demonstrations in the outdoor theatre.
